RESEARCH & STRATEGY
Conducted stakeholder interviews to clarify business requirements and product goals.
Led user research with both Asset Managers and Building Managers to uncover pain points and validate assumptions.
Addressing the rising ESG demand in smart buildings
The business saw a growing demand for ESG reporting, but we needed to determine whether to expand our platform to support a new user type — Asset Managers.
This was a 0-1 feature and did come with some challenges, Asset Managers had different needs that didn’t fully align with our existing product offerings, raising concerns about technical feasibility, time-to-market, and product fit. I challenged the initial strategy, advocating for a focus on Building Managers to ensure we could deliver an outstanding product on time.
& Designed the ESG reporting dashboard, integrating existing sensor data to deliver actionable insights.
Presented interactive prototypes to stakeholders and iterated based on their feedback.
Conducted user validation sessions with Building Managers to ensure product-market fit and usability.
The ESG feature launched successfully, driving both sustainability impact and business value. This project strengthened the company's market position in the smart building sector and laid the foundation for future ESG-focused innovations.

Stop! Rethinking the user focus
After identifying insights it was decided that Asset Managers required a fundamentally different solution, which would stretch resources and miss deadlines.
I presented my findings to stakeholders and proposed a pivot back to Building Managers, focusing on delivering a product with a clearer market fit and business impact.
IDEATION & COLLABORATION
Facilitated cross-functional brainstorming sessions to explore how existing platform data (e.g., air quality, temperature, sentiment tracking) could be reused to generate ESG reports without requiring new sensors.
Mapped gaps in the current platform and prioritized solutions that aligned with Building Managers’ workflows.
Narrowed down to four key value propositions and refined these through continued research and feedback.
