I started by mapping the needs of Asset Managers through user interviews and analyzing the existing platform. The current system provided sensor data like energy use and air quality, helping Building Managers optimize building performance.


At first, the goal was to repurpose this data to attract Asset Managers, helping them track portfolio-level ESG performance.


But after spending some time researching and gathering feedback, cracks started to show.

Tackling ESG Demand: Driving Smarter Solutions for Smart Buildings

The goal was to expand into the ESG space by offering insights to Asset Managers to guide sustainable investments.


The existing platform already provided sensor data — energy use, air quality, and more — to Building Managers. The assumption was that we could repurpose this data for Asset Managers.


But after research and stakeholder feedback, it became clear that this wasn’t working.
